Oscillation - New Way To Feel: Explained. The standout A-side has been with me for about a year; on my home computer, my computer at work, my mp3 player, and burned to countless numbers of CD-Rs for the car. I got to hear it through Jimmy @ Bee & Smoke, who was friend and engineer to Demian (The Oscillation) at the studio where he was laying down demos for a company we probably can't name. Things fell through with the demos for one reason or another. John Fortis later became involved through another studio engineering job Jimmy was involved in a few months later, who also took to the demo track and got Mikey B (the stand-up drummer of Art Brut) to play on the record in downtime at Miloco studios - and we pretty much had the result, on nice blue vinyl.

About the track: I personally love it, that's a given. It's what you'd get in a fantasy sitaution if you were to have Bobby Gillespie front Spacemen 3 - a slac-bouncy-cool-space-rock-anthem, with some great lyrics - and not to mention a great sleeve to boot (even Dyl agrees with me on that one!).

Anyhow, Genod Droog are playing Toucan (formerly Journeys on Newport Rd there) in Cardiff tonight, highly recommended - as is the Radio Luxembourg gig in Cardiff Barfly - meanwhile i'm finishing up the labels accounts this afternoon, then on the piss round Conwy (familiar Marc? Yes, i will get to Cardiff soon).

EDIT: Sad news today, as we hear Grandaddy officially split-up. Buying that ticket off a tout in Manchester last time they were touring the UK for £40 now doesnt seem so bad! A dose of Brokendown Comforter Collection and Under The Western Freeway is in order.
